I Just Got Something I Am Too Old For

I used to think it was cool, in junior high, but now I think it's childish. Can you guess?
Braces. That is it. And I gotta tell you, I thought it would be so fun to have them, since everyone was doing it, but I was sorely disappointed. Literally. My mouth has been in pain since Monday, when I got them. And then I find out some guy got his OFF that day! I feel like such a loser!
It is sooo hard to eat, and it's constantly stabbing my gums. I should have gone through this a while ago, but I actually had to request from my parents that I get them. I know, it's silly to complain when I'm the one that asked for it. But I had no idea that it would be this bad. Oh well. Better sooner than later, or never. I know a full-grown woman with them, and that, my friends, is unfortunate. Also, if there's one thing I believe in, that makes life easier to take, it's that hardships can only make us stronger, and as long as we get through each one, we can be considered brave and strong in our own respect.
