A Childhood Fantasy

I used to think it would be totally awesome if I was as small as a hermit crab or something, because then I could go inside a spiral shell (a gastropod shell) and keep going forever and it would be my house. The idea of having an infinite tunnel that got smaller and smaller but I could somehow always fit into and that never ended seemed like the greatest place in the world to me when I was really young. I don't know why. Maybe it just seemed like a super cool clubhouse.
I never got that the shell had little chambers in it. Similarly, I sort of wanted to be a turtle because people always said "turtles carry their house on their back", which to me meant they could pull into their shells and walk around and chill in their house somehow.

I also thought it would be cool if I was in a family where there was one boy and one girl of every age, 1 to 100. I don't know why I thought that either. That would be an awful lot of twins to have! I might have gotten that idea from 101 Dalmatians somehow. And, adding to that, a dog of each age 1 to 100 of the same family. I suppose you could say I was "creative".
