I Finally Watched Step Up 3
And boy was it a disappointment! Those people were not very good actors. Well, IN MY OPINION, only the main guy and girl were, since they weren't good dancers. Either that or their lines were way too cliche and simple. But if it's hard to tell which one, that's not good. "You wanna get to him, you gotta go through us." Oh, real original! I mean, who wrote the script, Disney Channel? And what about, "Dancing is my life. If I didn't have that, I wouldn't have anything." Please. I'm pretty sure everyone has more than one talent.
I'd really like to know if the idea was that they make money dancing, or if they actually have jobs. Because if they don't, and they only get money a couple times a year when they battle, then they better be okay with just scraping by.
Also- throughout the whole film, I was waiting for that one time when they dance-battle and it's like nothing you've ever seen and it's just AMAZING, but alas, that moment never came. After having watched the whole sixth season of America's Best Dance Crew, it really puts into perspective what it means to be the best. I guess they just didn't find very good choreographers or something. Though the dancers individually were very good, they never really got their act together and actually did a cool group dance. Maybe that's the point, that it's all improv or something, and they're showing that everyone has their own style of dance. Still, that kind of chaos doesn't make for a good movie.
