Snapchat Is The New Texting

I don't have a smart phone, so I don't get to indulge in this luxury. But every time my friends Snapchat, I always make sure I butt in and put my face in that photo, too. At first, it seemed to me to be a silly fad that wastes time. I would watch people sitting next to me make the same face over and over again, and at that point I really thought it was stupid. But there's a deeper way to think about it. Rather than using words, one could convey their mood at any given time by their facial expression and send it on Snapchat, which would make people have to truly think about what they're looking at. I saw one friend use the app in such a way, and now I approve of it. It's super quirky and the possibilities are endless! The one annoying thing is that it deletes it after a little while. That sucks because every time a friend receives a funny picture, they don't have enough time to let me see it too. That sounds kind of lame- "maybe you should just have a better phone!"- I know, but that's my life. And I know that feature annoys the people actually using Snapchat too. I guess the creators didn't want the app to turn into a storage for a ton of pictures, so it kind of makes sense. But STILL!
